About
AFPolicy
I navigate the landscape of public policy, focusing on a specific area that defines a thriving society: education and inequality. However, there must be an understanding that public policy does not have a “one size fits all” solution. Public policies are intertwined, and it takes a holistic approach to create the society for which we strive.
Why Evidence Matters
In an evolving world, data-driven decision-making should not be a luxury but a necessity. I recognize that evidence-based research is the foundation of effective policies and that numbers can tell a story when communicated effectively.
Why Me
My background is in education. I am a graduate of Michigan State University. I have five years of experience teaching elementary education in the Midwest. I left the teaching profession to continue my own education, earning a Master’s of Public Policy from The University of Chicago’s Harris School with a certificate in Policy Analysis. With my education and work experience in both the teaching and education space, as well as the policy space, I understand not only how important policy in practice is but also how effectively communicating those policies and how meeting folks where they are can have profound impacts on policy implementation.
